What is Prediabetes?
Before diabetes is diagnosed, most adults have prediabetes which is an elevated amount of blood sugar. In fact, more than 88 million adults in the United States have predibetes - that's one in three! If you are one of them, you can develop type 2 diabetes within 5 years if you don’t take steps to prevent it through a healthy diet and being physically active.?

What is Type 2 diabetes??
Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. It is a chronic health condition where your body doesn’t use insulin well and can’t keep blood sugar at normal levels. It can lead to health issues such as heart attack; stroke; blindness; kidney failure; or loss of toes, feet, or legs.?
Am I at risk??
You are at increased risk for developing prediabetes and type 2 diabetes if you:?
- Are 45 years of age or older?
- Have a BMI of 25 or greater
- Have a family history of type 2 diabetes?
- Do not exercise?
- Have a history of diabetes during pregnancy (gestational diabetes)
